I believe in the social safety net, started in part by FDR. Of course, I'm far more conservative than he, so I'd like a conservative approach to this net. I believe in government investment in infrastructure, science, research, and education. Again, though, I'm against teacher's unions, etc. And, I'm alone right now in not wanting budget cuts. I want them, but only later, when unemployment comes down. I think the economy is too fragile for cuts right now. Otherwise, I'm pretty hardcore conservative. :)

@AmericanLady Thanks, Janet. I think Glenn Beck has done some wonderful things for America, and I believe he is essential for the national dialogue. As you may know, however, I am not happy with his tone lately, and I don't buy into the paranoia. I'd like to know what you think. :)
@AmericanLady, Janet, I hold some positions that are liberal, and others that are conservative. Like Goldwater, Bill Kristol, Bill Bennet,George W. Bush,John F. Kennedy,and Dick Cheney. I always want a conservative solution, though, even with my liberal views. Where possible. I am extremely conservative on defense, etc. But, I believe in the social safety net, and in government investment in science, research, education, and infrastructure. Again, though, using conservative principles. No payouts to unions or cronies. No Obamacare. Privatize SSC. Hope that helps. :)
