Listorious Interview
7 a.m.-1 p.m from computer; throughout the day and evening from my Droid. Once in a while if I wake up at 3 a.m. and see an interesting tweet, I'll reply or retweet then, too.
Social media, Twitter, websites, SEO, Google, Latinas in social media, Latinos in social media, diversity in social media, Facebook, Foursquare, hope and achieving goals.
I have eclectic tastes so I'll tweet about Twitter, SEO, Google, website production, social media but I'll also tweet about movies, TV shows, breaking news, encouragement and love. I guess I'm known for being a conversationalist, too. I'm on a wide variety of lists.
A big misconception of Twitter is that it's a waste of time. Twitter is what you make it. It can be many different things for many different people. It's evolved into becoming the world's largest and best human search engine. And it's also a great way to show people your true colors because people can get to know you. Once they know you, if they like you, they'll trust you. Once they trust you, they'll refer you to their friends or hire you or become your friend. It's really about building relationships. It takes time to build relationships.
If I think my tweet will serve a purpose in some way, I will tweet it. But I do hold back a lot. Serving a purpose means being helpful to someone, whether through a helpful blog post I read and want to share or by encouraging people to reach their goals or posting a photo to share glimpses of my personal life. (I like it when people do that.)
Twitter will try to compete with Foursquare more but I'd rather have the holy trinity of social networks work separately (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare). Twitter will have to come up with better filters due to the droves of people who use it like a chat window all the time (I'm guilty of this but not too much). I'm so glad they changed the game by coming out with lists. The number of lists you're on is far more important than the number of people following you. Influence is everything. Using it wisely is very important.
I'm good at spotting winners; I'm told I tweet about the coolest tools, blog posts, tech news, social media news, SEO and Website stuff. I like to have conversations with people and I love helping people.
Foursquare is hot! I have become fascinated by it. Just wrote a guest blog post about it: http://www.empowermemagazine.com/2010/07/26/lets-check-in-to-foursquares-milestones/
Also, having a conversation with @SteffanAntonas about the Twitter lists: there doesn't seem to be a solution for Twitter lists appearing in reverse chronological order or any way to search the lists themselves without investing a lot of time.
@RainnWilson; @StephenAtHome (Stephen Colbert) and many, many comedians who are tweeting.
I like to check-in on celebrity tweeters for the same reason I watch the Oscars: to get a glimpse of their "real" selves.
Yes: except I wish you guys would note that I am actually on 729 lists instead of the number you have, which is way less. Follow-worthy lists: Mashable's lists; Scobleizer's, all the top peeps.
