Listorious Interview
I think the law is a failure, and all public school children are adversely affected.
The emphasis on quantitative standards is stupid, and fails to take into account how children learn.
I think it is all part of a plot to privatize education, and to make money for the corporations that operate so called "charter schools" which should really be named "corporate for-profit schools".
The future of our country depends on education of our children, which in turn depends on a robust public school system.
The people making these laws are rich people whose children attend private school.
If we outlawed private school, we would see a marked improvement in the quality of public education.
I am heartsick over it.
1. Well all that statistic means is that I am #3 in the number of Listorious-submitted lists which have named me. Many other people are on more Twitter lists than I. In fact if you look down the list, you'll see people like Anita Nelson, Guy Kawasaki, Chris Brogan, and Reg Saddler, who have many more followers than I, and are named to many more Twitter lists than I. The difference is that a lower percentage of the lists naming them have been submitted to Listorious.
2. I trust some of the people I tweet with; and do not know most of the people well enough to say that. In fact, many people with whom I tweet are anonymous, and I find it hard to trust people who are anonymous.
The realization that Twitter was a great place to
(a) find the news that doesn't make it into the mass media (b) find the history that doesn't make it into the history books (c) find, and organize with, the people who care about making the world a better place and (d) provide a voice for the voiceless.
Rahm Emanuel. So I could give him a piece of my mind.
Yes. @adriennepine
Yes. Cut deeply into my working time. Made me a much more knowledgeable person. Made me a lot of new friends.
I don't worry about that. I worry about good information.
I started to tweet about legal issues, but I've gone way beyond that. Now it's more about friendship and learning
I'm not like that. I get by with what I've got.

Genuine traditional retweet
I've only really created one, but I don't wish everyone used it: #youmightbeaddictedtotwitter
Talking at rather than to people; being too self promotional; being selfish.
@BuzzEdition She put the "social" in "social media"
I'll shorten anything if I have to.
Yes. I wouldn't say who. Different reasons. Commercialness, selfishness, rightwing politics, nuttiness, irritating me
Twitter is about sharing. Take an interest in others. Don't try to be all about yourself.

Tweetdeck
Frequently.
You're doing fine.
Share. Retweet (traditional retweet, not Twitter's fake pseudo retweet)
There's no single connection. It's the precious wonderful peeps I've discovered here, who have so much to teach and share
One of the things I tweet about is legal issues. And I'm a lawyer IRL.
I love to interact with, share information with, and organize with, people who care about making the world a better place

Now that the oil has stopped flowing, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is moving to assessing the damage and making sure that all areas are fully restored to pre-spill conditions, at no cost to the American people. The program that enables this is the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration program, known as NRDAR (spelled out), which was set up following the Exxon Valdez spill to provide a legal authority to address the consequences of oil spills.
The NRDAR process focuses on identifying injured natural resources, determining the extent of the injuries, recovering damages from those responsible, and planning and carrying out natural resource restoration activities to pre-spill conditions.
NRDAR is completely separate from the claims system for individuals and businesses that BP has set up; its purpose is to restore damage to trust resources that are owned by the public, which can include national wildlife refuges, fish hatcheries, military bases, parks, endangered species and their habitats, drinking water supplies, etc. It is also separate from many of the response operations, such as rescuing birds, deploying boom, and cleaning oil from shores and beaches.
You can get more information on NRDAR at http://www.fws.gov/home/dhoilspill/restoration.html
