What's your favorite Twitter app?

I couldn't live without my TweetDeck - I can control all my accounts at once and only rarely post abortion news for 12 yr olds...

How do you use Twitter in your professional life?

I use it to connect w/ feminists in communities across the country, in the form of tweet-ups, organizing campaigns, CR groups, etc.

Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?

I've met amazing people - shout out to my NYC tweet-up crew! - and now have feminist friends I can meet up with during all my travels.

What was the funniest trend you've seen?

#thanksabonly was pretty great - gratitude for the results of abstinence programs. High STI rates. Bad body image. Outdated gender roles.

What are six things you could never do without?

My (real & chosen) family, the sisterhood, my BlackBerry, smart discourse, books, CHEESE.

Why'd you start tweeting?

I wanted to share the feminist news and experiences I learn as a traveling organizer with a wide audience. Share the wealth!

ShelbyKnox in response to Listorious

Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?

'reproductive justice' 'human rights' 'social equality'

Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?

#youngfeminists - We exist. We do amazing work for social justice. We deserve more recognition for both.

What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?

I try not to shorten the word women. We've had pieces of ourselves erased for too long; why would I do it symbolically in a tweet?

ShelbyKnox in response to Listorious

What's your best tweet?

A quote I caught and tweeted first: "If women can't do anything right, we might as well do what we damn well please." - Gloria Steinem
