Have many motivational favs, but Dr Seuss ranks high:
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
My head has always been full of characters trying to tell me their stories. If I didn't write them down, I'd probably go nuts--well, more nuts than I already am.
I've written stories since I could make letters with my crayons, and I used to give names to the people in my coloring books and make up stories about them.
I guess I write because I can't help it.
Shelly, A fews year ago, the greatest obstacle I faced was finding a medium to share my work. I wanted to inspire people from all walks of life from around the globe. Although this seemed to be an impossibility to so many, at the time; I continued to believe that one day, this would eventually become a reality. When I came across Twitter, I suddenly felt I had found the perfect medium to fulfill my dream of inspiring others. I have not stopped tweeting inspiration, since the day I sent out my first tweet. I am so glad I stuck at it, and today, I trust that my tweets have gone on to inspire so many people around the globe, through twitter, facebook and via email. ☺

I strive at making my crime novels realistic. My characters aren’t super-heroes and my cops investigate crimes the old-fashioned way, using their head and a lot of leg-work. They don’t have wall-sized monitors which display live and recorded footage captured by security cameras strategically placed all over town. They have intelligence, experience and cop-savvy. Any scene which I create in any of my novels could actually happen. Like I mentioned at the start, it must be realistic.
That said, what really frustrates me is when I read novels by other authors, often big names, and wind up disappointed because some elements or sometimes the whole book is not believable. I don’t appreciate a scene that could not actually, physically be reproduced in real life. I dislike when a crime is solved on loose concepts and wild guesses. I’m disappointed when I can see holes in the storyline.
I work hard at making my crime thrillers real, yet entertaining. It frustrates me when others don’t.
