Hmmm..I follow @jesus (a bit irreverent, but I think it's funny!)
Yes, I find them quite useful for following tweets of people that I normally don't want cluttering up my feed..for example: I have a "celebrities" list that I can check from time-to-time, but I don't want to see their chatter all the time (except for a few I do follow). I'm currently working on a 'Follow-Back-SELECT' list that has many high-quality tweeters that follow back most (if not all), engage, interact and RT others. http://twitter.com/adrianslew/top-500-followback-select .. There are many lists and I' sure anyone can find or make one that is suited to their interests (tech, business, news, regional, humor, charity, politics, etc)
