I don't really shorten any words or phrases. Part of the fun of Twitter is the challenge of conveying my thoughts in 140 characters or less.
Chris Sacca ( @sacca ). He's a spectacular person who leads by example and I've been able to follow all of his experiences via Twitter.
Everyone has a different Tweet-style. Figure out what yours is- don't try to adopt someone else's.
Lots of people. Usually because they tweeted too often or just bored me to tears. Or both.
Favstar.fm. I never felt like a part of the Twitter community until I started following Favstar.

No. I usually tweet 3-5 times a day. I try to make those times count for my followers by giving them something to laugh about.
I don't have a professional life right now. Someday...
The dialogue in my head about what I'm observing around me. I usually tweet what I would say to a friend in real life.
Share more about themselves. I know details about some people's lives- fears, concerns, accomplishments- but don't know their first name!

No. I am amazed that ANYONE would enjoy my drivel enough to follow me. It is humbling to see how funny, enlightened & smart my followers are.
I usually have the introduction of the tweet. Followed by the punchline.
I visited the site out of curiosity and stayed because I loved the format. I've "met" so many incredible people- I don't see myself leaving.
Oxygen, food, water, sex, my computer, internet connection. (Not necessarily in that order.)
I'm a sucker for euphemisms- I just can't get enough. <--- That's not a euphemism though. Or is it? Fellas?

I don't even want to contemplate going without Twitter for an extended period of time. *shudder*
