Listorious Interview

Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?

My friends and colleagues whom I might blast with emails have less inbox clutter to deal with now that I can just spat it out in a Tweet.

Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?

I like @civileater because she's so up to date, and even if her Tweets aren't about stories she's written they're always impressive, too.

What are some big Twitter faux pas?

Tweeting way too much. Leave us some mystery!

that Julie Powell and food writer Giulia Melucci were on Let's Eat In once. Invited them just to be able to say that - "Julie & Giulia"

RT is helpful, but I'm tempted to abuse it by RT'ing everything interesting I see!

140 characters of advice for a new user?

Use it if you find that it's helpful, inspiring, motivating, community-oriented and warm. Don't use it in ill will, or with a closed mind.

Cathy Erway in response to Listorious

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?

Too many to mention, but mostly fellow bloggers who I've found share a lot of the same interests.

Cathy Erway in response to Listorious

How do you use Twitter in your professional life?

To announce events and fundraisers that I'm helping out with, and guests on my talk show podcast (as I can't seem to elsewhere).

Cathy Erway in response to Listorious

What inspires you to tweet?

Seeing others use it thoughtfully, and often, entertainingly.

Cathy Erway in response to Listorious

Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?

How about one that I didn't create, but wish I had?... Which unfortunately means any one at all.

Cathy Erway in response to Listorious

What was the funniest trend you've seen?

People blogging early in the morning, asking "Why am I up?"
