Listorious Interview

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?

We found a community of likeminded publications, some came before us, some had the same idea at the same time, others came later.

escarp in response to Listorious

Ever get called out for tweeting too much?

Ha. Us? No, definitely not.

escarp in response to Listorious

What was the funniest trend you've seen?

Any of the "Why is _________ trending?!" trends. We picture one meerkat standing up to look at something and all of the others following.

escarp in response to Listorious

What question are we not asking here that we should?

We did a fun interview with @thaumatrope;their script asked 5-7 random who-what-when-where-why-how questions. Try that.

escarp in response to Listorious

Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?

Ha. Probably @neilhimself or @arjunbasu -- we'd be happy to see that email show up in our inbox.

escarp in response to Listorious

What inspires you to tweet?

Creating a new literary culture, encouraging people who won't normally read a poem or a short story to take a nibble, see if they like it.

escarp in response to Listorious

Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?

Of course! We receive friend notifications, journal submissions, revisions or spam at all hours of the day and night. Eat. Sleep. Breathe.

escarp in response to Listorious

What are six things you could never do without?

pens, paper, poems, stories, cellphones and maybe air.

escarp in response to Listorious

Why'd you start tweeting?

To provide a market for brief literature, be it poetry or prose--to put the words of authors in the pockets of the people.

escarp in response to Listorious

Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?

Poem? Story? Literature? #booksIBoughtToday?

escarp in response to Listorious

What feature should Twitter add?

Conversation tracking, both for tweeted replies, and for blog posts that mention tweets, would bring together two worlds of information.

escarp in response to Listorious

Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?

We haven't created any hashtags. They don't really "fit" for us.

escarp in response to Listorious

Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?

We're a little jealous of him, but we've got to give the nod to @arjunbasu for what he's doing for twit-lit.

escarp in response to Listorious

What are some big Twitter faux pas?

Trying to figure out how you can use it to make money.

escarp in response to Listorious

What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?

Oh, pretty much everything, and we keep our writers to that, too. Part of the fun is stuffing a literary gorilla into the bird cage.

escarp in response to Listorious

What's your best tweet?

We've got some, but we wouldn't pick one writer over another in such a public way. So we'll cheat: our initial "open-for-submissions" tweet.

escarp in response to Listorious

How long can you go without a tweet?

As long as it takes to have something good to run.
