Listorious Interview

How do you see the rich media advertising? Do they have a future with all the existing crap?

If we're talking about advertising taking over space while attempting to access information (usually high traffic sites).. I think these annoying and not user-friendly. Feels like being shove down our throat sorta speaking. From recent stats there is a huge increase in online advertising. But the 'how' it should be down is still sketchy at best. I prefer the 'advertorial' route.

What topics do you mostly tweet about?

Design, web dev/des, mobile apps, business of design, ethics..

Carole Guevin in response to Listorious

Can/should designers be developers. Is there a role that bridges the gap between the two?

No. There are now more defined roles now:

Designers: user experience, usability, grid and interface mockups

FED: Front-end developers, CSS, HTML, Javascript programming

Integrators: Put in the content of each FED templates

BED: Back-end developers, server applications, php, database, etc.

How do you decide what you're going to tweet?

Urgency. Either a great find that will inspire others (mainly around design and digital culture) - or reaction to something I read.

How do you imagine Twitter changing?

I hope it doesn't change but evolves as it has been doing since onset.

Carole Guevin in response to Listorious

Why should people follow you or add you to their list?

Quality over noise, challenger, meta networker

Carole Guevin in response to Listorious

Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?

Not sure about 'funny' but most of the time really 'witty'. And that is a pure intellectual delight.

@mollydotcom @zeldman @kitsunenoir

Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?

Curating who I follow is a constant activity. Validity = those who share relevent info / knowledge. Unfollowing all diva-like activities. We all have interesting lives, well at least I believe so and because of that, don't succumb to worshipping influencers.

Carole Guevin in response to Listorious

Do you find Twitter lists useful and can you name any follow-worthy lists?

If you follow a lot of people and you need to get fresh insights on a topic - best to create a list that contains experts that will feed your mind.

Also, value comes from "who" curates a list too.

Examples:

Zeldman design list:

Behance creatives to watch list:
